March Madness for sure!

March really was crazy. So many fun and exciting things happened. First of all I turned a year older. Bleh! But hey it was still fun. My mom came down and spent the day with me. She brought me an angel food cake, which I love and she copied some home movies to DVD and gave them to me for my Birthday. We watched a few of them together. It was fun to see what we looked like and how young my kids were. Time has gone by so fast. That afternoon Jason made me a cake too, it was really yummy. I got some cute black jeans and my favorite candy for my birthday. That night Tad took me out to dinner at the Olive Garden and then we went to see "A Tale of Two Cities." at the Hale Theatre. I love going there and I have loved every play I've seen there, they always do such a great job. I never want the plays to end. It was a great birthday! I just wish I didn't have to keep getting older.

The next big event was Dayna's Senior Prom. There was some drama, where a boy asked her to the prom and then tried to cancel on her a few days later, because he found out he would be out of town and also that he got back together with his old girlfriend. I was so mad about this because Dayna had told everyone she got asked, so the chances of someone else asking her were slim. I was so mad I got Dayna to give me the guys cell phone number and I sent him some nasty text messages. He only said he was sorry and that he would try to get one of his friends to ask her. I vented some this on Facebook one day. My friend suggested that we set Dayna up with, her single young brother in law. I suggested this to Dayna, and she said she didn't want to go with someone she had never met. So my friend I devised a plan for them to meet.Luckily there was a family birthday at her house, and her brother in law was going to be there. So I tricked Dayna into going over there with me. We totally embarrassed them, but they agreed to go to the prom together. (oh by the way, a few days before this, the other boy said he ended up not having to go out of town, and asked Dayna if she would forgive him and still go with, him. She wanted go go so bad, she agreed to it, I told her she was crazy) After she agreed to go with Rhett (the brother in law) she sent a text message to the other boy and told him her parents wouldn't let her go with him and canceled on him. (just a little payback). Anyways Dayna and Rhett, texted each other over the next few days. Luckily we were able to borrow a dress from a good friend of ours. Rhett actually took Dayna out to dinner and a movie the night before the prom. I though that was so nice, it helped them get to know each other a little better before the prom. For the prom the went with two other couples. They ate at the Mayan Restaurant and then went to the dance which was held in the Skybox at the U of U. They ended a great time. Dayna was so glad she didn't go with the other guy. Here are some pictures from the prom.

The next big thing was Dayna's 18th Birthday!! Wow I can't believe I'm officially the parent of and adult child. It's so crazy. I can hardly believe it. I checked her out of school and we went to lunch and the Olive Garden (can you tell that's our favorite restaurant) It was so funny when we walked in there, cause the hostess lady asked me if I wanted a kiddie menu (referring to Dayna) I said no and laughed as we sat down. I know she looks young, but not 12 or under right? We told the waiter it was her birthday, and asked him to guess hold she was, he wouldn't guess, so we told him, she was 18. He looked surprised and said he wouldn't have guessed that. We just keep telling Dayna when she's 30 and looks 20 she appreciate looking young. After we ate we went shopping and Dayna got two shirts, and some cute sandals. We had a little family party for her that night. Our cute home teachers, brought over a present for her, it was cute pink and white towels for her to take to college with her. Dayna's friend party was on Saturday. We wanted to do something really fun for her 18th birthday, I told he how my sister's son had a mall scavenger hunt for his birthday and they had a great time. (Thank you for the idea Malinda) . Everyone met at our house, where we had pizza, cake & ice cream. We ended up having 3 girls and 2 boys come to the party, so we let Jason , be the third boy, so it would be even. We headed off to Southtowne mall. They decided to do girls against boys for the teams. I gave them each a list of things, they had to find out, or collect or take pictures of & set them on their way. A little while later Jason called me and said they went to the information desk to find out some the answers on the paper. There was a security office lady at the desk, when she found out they were doing a Scavenger hunt, she told him they were supposed to get permission to do it ahead of time and that, an adult would have to come over there and sign a paper in order for them to continue. She also said both teams needed to be there, so she could tell them the rules. So I called the girls and we went over there. I thought she was really nice about it, and I signed the paper. Then we were back in business. We scheduled another meeting time and the kids took off again. About 15 minutes before the time was up. The boys showed up, Jason said he had been doing everything and the other two boys were being party poopers, so they were done. They had only done about half the things on the list. The girls however, came back and had pretty much done everything on the list. They had a great time! They won the prize, which was drinks at Orange Julius. Here's some of the pictures the girls took , some of them are kinda blurry for some reason. I gave the boys my camera took take pictures, but they used one of the boys cell phones instead, so I don't have any of those pictures.

I am so happy Dayna had a good time at her party, even if the boys didn't. Now that she is 18 she is looking for a job, so she can save money to go to Snow College this fall. Still can't believe it.

A few days after Dayna's birthday. My neice Jackie got married. She is only 18 so, it totally freaks me out for Dayna. I hope she waits a few more years before she gets married. It was a nice reception. They looked really happy and in love. Here are a few pictures I took.

Love is in the air.

I love February and Valentines. Since Tad and I met at a dance, we love dancing. However, we hardly ever get to go. I was so excited when Jason told me that at one of his city youth council meetings, they decided to plan an adult Valentine's dance. So us and 3 other couples planned to go together. We had a nice dinner with Chicken Cordon Blue , salad and yummy rolls. Then we headed over to the dance. The kids did a great job at decorating and they had great refreshments too. We had so much fun dancing, we kept requesting all of our favorite 80's songs, like the Electric Slide and Money, Money. It was a blast! I felt like a teenager again!
On Valentine's day, Tad and I went out on a date, all the normal restaurants we packed so we decided to drive a little further and try someplace new. We ended up a Jim's Family Restaurant, we got right in and sat down. Tad ordered Steak and I ordered chicken Alfredo. It was pretty good I like Olive Garden better though. Then we were going to go watch the movie Midway to Heaven, but it was getting late,so we decided to go home and watch a movie on Netflix, we watched "One Fine Day" it was really cute. We had a nice time just being alone together. I love my hubby he is so good to me.

Goodbye 2010!

Well 2010 sure had it's ups and downs. I am grateful for the trials and triumphs we had, they are both learning experiences and I know they have made us better.
December was a crazy month as usual. First we celebrated Jason's 15th Birthday. I checked him out of school and we went to the mall, and let Adam see Santa. Then we went to the church distribution center, He wanted new scriptures with his name on it. I was so happy that's what he wanted for his present from us. That weekend he had a pizza and movie party at our house. He had about 8 friends or so, that came. They played they candy bar game where you wrap the candy bar up several times and then they try to roll doubles on the dice, then they have to wear gloves and try to open the candy bar. They get so competitive, it's pretty funny to watch. They also played a game call curses, and had so much fun being silly. Then they ate pizza and watched the movie Despicable Me. I attempted to make a BYU cake, but it really didn't turn out very well, but hey it tasted good, that's all that matters right? When it was present time he got mostly candy and money from his friends, he was very happy. Here's a few pictures I took.
Allmon Christmas Party.

December 23rd we had our annual Allmon Christmas Party at Anthony's house this year. It was so much fun to get together,we had a yummy ham dinner. Then with much begging we finally got the kids to do the Nativity Scene, they think they are getting to old for it. Whatever! It was really cute though. Then we opened presents, that is always crazy, but we all had a lot of fun. I love my family!

CHRISTMAS!

We had a great Christmas this year. Despite the fact we didn't have a lot of money to spend this year. It all worked out ok somehow. I wish I didn't stress myself out so much every year. It always turns out great. Dayna's favorite presents were her clothes and her own keys to the cars. Jason's favorite presents was his Xbox hard drive and his Hummer remote control. Ryan's favorite presents were his cell phone and his Monster truck remote control. Adam's favorite presents was his Buzz Lightyear that he asked Santa for. My favorite presents were my black boots I got from Tad and my brown boots I got from my sister. Tad's favorite present was his new watch and his camp stove. Here are some pictures of Christmas Eve and morning.

Happy New Year!
We went to an awesome New Years Eve party! We had so much fun eating yummy food and playing a game called hand and foot, it was so fun. Dayna & Jason went to a New Years Eve dance at Midnight they had balloons drop and then they served breakfast to everyone, pretty cool I thought. Adam and Ryan came to the party with us and played with the other kids, they had a good time shooting each other with Nerf guns. New Years day our friends the Dukes came over and played American Idol Karaoke with us, it was so fun! I am so excited for this new year and all that it will bring.
